# Payments

Remove payments, added by [`vela enable payments`](/docs/enable/payments). It removes the provider the project uses.

### Syntax

```
$ vela disable payments
```

### Options

- `-y, --yes` - Skip the confirmation prompt

### What it removes

For Stripe:

- The Stripe collections, and every record in them
- The Stripe credentials in `.env`, and their declarations in `src/env.ts`
- The generated payment files, webhooks and nav / signup edits

For Shopify:

- `src/lib/shopify.ts`, the Buy button and the demo page
- The Shopify credentials in `.env`, and their declarations in `src/env.ts`

For WhatsApp:

- `src/lib/order.ts` and the Order on WhatsApp button
- `PUBLIC_WHATSAPP_NUMBER` and `PUBLIC_WHATSAPP_ORDER_FORM` in `.env`, and their declarations in `src/env.ts`

### What it leaves

- Products and prices in your Stripe dashboard or Shopify admin — nothing is deleted at the provider
- On WhatsApp, the hosted order form and the orders recorded to it on velastack.dev
- The provider's packages (`stripe` and `@stripe/stripe-js`, `@shopify/storefront-api-client`, or `@velastack/whatsapp`)

### What stops it

With [ecommerce](/docs/enable/ecommerce), [subscriptions](/docs/enable/subscriptions) or [orders](/docs/enable/orders) enabled the command refuses to run, since each imports the payments client: run [`vela disable ecommerce`](/docs/disable/ecommerce), [`vela disable subscriptions`](/docs/disable/subscriptions) or [`vela disable orders`](/docs/disable/orders) first. Nothing is changed by the refusal.
